Summary of ideas.

The masthead will be big and bold so everyone can see it, plus people who buy the magazine mutable times they will recognise the magazine. The essential information needs to be on the magazine so people will know how much it cost and the date it came out and the issue number incase they have missed a issue. The main sell line is what brings people into read it and explains the main image, and tells you what the main story is. The sub head is the tittle of another of the big stories in the magazine and usually tells you a little bit about the story too to draw attention to what else is in the magazine. There is always around about 4 main colours on a front cover they tend to be basic so it is better to see the image. In the contents page there should be two or three little pictures different to the main image on the cover, and it should explain what is in the magazine and the page numbers of where to find them. The colours would be also basic and simple as the attention wouldn't be drawn away from the images. The double page would need a big picture one one page with a title and and sometimes a quote, the other page will have a lot of written language and would contain the interview.

Magazine deconstruction of a front page.

The front of Nme magazine with Florence Welch. The singer that is on the cover is looking at the camera which makes you see her face and makes it more personal. You can see her face and the background is hidden, her hair is red which show danger and fire. The written language is in the colours white and black which are basic colours witch keeps the attention on the singer. The connotation of this cover is that Florence is saying that she wouldn’t get through x factor auditions. The stereotype is that young singers have to be attractive to make it big or to be famous. The primary audience would be the target audience of the magazine, and the secondary audience would be fans of Florence. I like how on this magazine the picture is a close up because it is less distracting and you are more likely to pick it up because she is looking right at you, I would like to use this on my magazine because it seems more personal.                    

College magazine.

This is my college magazine. My masthead is basic and is orange to draw attention to the title, I have used many different colour fonts but they draw the attention away from the images and I wish that I had used just one or two of the colours. The images are not of high quality and do not relate to the magazine.
The contents page is a orange background which draws attention to the page, the colours of the fonts are very light which makes it hard to see them and what they say, the images are mostly the same as the front page.
