Learning from the research.
I have learnt from my front pages that I will choose that they would need to eye catching for the audience and the sell lines would have to be interesting and appealing to the target audience and they font would have to be understandable. The page would have to be less busy to make it seem more professional and appealing to the target audiences. during my deconstruction of the front covers I noticed that the model or models are mostly looking directly at the camera and or dressed provocatively, plus the covers/magazines use the stereotype that young singers have to be attractive to make it big and to be famous.
Research and Analysis of a double page feature.
Interview with Paloma Faith from The New Yorker magazine. There is use of minimal colours in the interview page but the colours on the picture draws more attention to the words and it appeals to the audience, the black and white contrasts with the picture page. the font size is small but the beginning of the main paragraphs to draw attention to them. the image is very colourful and brings light to the page and is attention grabbing.
Research and analysis of double page features.
There is use of minimal colours as the slight bits of red on the image draw attention to the words that appeal to the audience, the bits of blue tie the pages together. The font size is small but the main letters are big to draw attention to the new paragraph. the image is slightly dull but the colours show a different side with red which shows danger and passion. the extra quote in the middle of the second column is made in blue to make it stand out more and appeal to the audience more.
Research and analysis of a double page features.
There is use of minimal colours as the L draws more attention to the words and it appeals to the audience, the black and white ties the pages together. The font size is small but the S I are big to draw attention to the new line/ paragraph. The image is very revealing and it could appeal to the male audience as the picture is quite sexual and very revealing.
The process of the college magazine.
I have learnt that it is easier making a magazine on Photoshop instead of PowerPoint
as you can move things around and edit different things and it helps to add
different pictures, and create a different setting compared to powerpoint. The fonts that are easier to read help a lot as the readers would need to be
able to read the contents of the magazine and would attract the audience to buy
the magazine. The pictures would need to be eye catching and of good quality to attract the
audience and to make it look of better quality.

The images I will use on my double page.
This is the image that I will use on my double page, this image is very different from my main image on the cover and I think that it is good as it changes to show something different.
The images I will use on my contents page.
This is the image that I will use on the contents page, I have edited the image with cropping the the top image out and keeping the bottom one. This picture shows the model looking at the character which tends to draw people in to look at the magazine.
This image will be my editors picture.
The image I will use on my main page.
This is the main image that I will be using on my front page. I have chosen this image as it looks professional and looks as if it could be on a magazine. The model is looking away from the camera which makes it look different to other magazines, the colours are black and white which makes it easier to add colour on the written language.
What you expect to find in a school magazine.
In a school magazine you would expect to see a catchy masthead that would grab the readers attention and make them intrigued. the sell lines would have to be interesting and make the readers want to buy the magazine. the pictures would have to be of good quality and appealing to the target audience. the stories in the magazine would have to be relatable and to have a connection to the school life. also deals and offers to help the readers in their school experience.
Magazine deconstruction of a front cover.
This is Bilboard magazine with lady gaga on the cover. The singer that is on the cover is looking at the camera which makes you see her. She is wearing a black dress and she has purple hair. The written language is in the colours white, black and purple. The connotation of this cover is that Lady Gaga is going to tell the readers about her songs. The stereotype is that young singers have to be attractive to make it big or to be famous. The primary audience would be the target audience of the magazine, and the secondary audience would be fans of Lady Gaga. I like the written language on this magazine as it is not distracting and it only uses three colours, I like this idea for my music magazine.
Magazine deconstruction of a front page.
Front page of Blebber magazine with Katy Perry. The singer that is on the cover is looking at the camera and is provocative as she is wearing shorts and a small top. She is wearing lots of different colours which will add more colour to the cover as there is only the written language and they use three colours which are black, pink and white. The connotation of this cover is that Katy Perry is going to tell the magazine secrets and that if you want to know you have to read the magazine.
The stereotype is that young singers have to be attractive to make it big or to be famous.
The primary audience would be the target audience of the magazine, and the secondary audience would be fans of Katy Perry. I like the plain background, I think I will use this in my magazine because there is more focus on the model other than the back ground, it is less distracting.

My evaluation of my magazine.
How
does your magazine use, develop and challenge forms and conventions?
‘MUSIC MATTERS’ uses the forms and
conventions of a real music magazine as it gives information on artist,
reviews, gigs, interviews and it gives the reader free offers. The photos I
have used are similar to the ones you would see in a magazine as they are
facing the camera and draw attention to them, also there is a picture of them
doing something like there would be in a magazine. My magazine challenges the forms and conventions of lots of popular music
magazines on the market today. As some of the magazines today have loads of colours on
their magazines, I have used basic colours because they are simple and attract the
reader because it looks interesting. I have used a dark red, black and yellow
because the are unusual on the front of a magazine.
How
does your media product represent particular social groups?
My magazine represents people who want to
know more about music and what makes a band/singer and all the things you need
to know about making music. People who enjoy music and like different genres so
the social groups can changer and mix. The purpose of magazine is for people to
find out everything they need to know about music. To appeal to the particular
social groups I made sure my cover is bright and fun looking so it would draw
people in to read my magazine.
What
kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
I think that my magazine would work
better if I published it with a popular magazine institution. My magazine could
be published by a institution like Bauer Media as it would make my magazine of
a higher standard, Bauer Media has a good reputation for publishing good
magazines. Bauer Media publishes magazine of a good
quality such as Kerrang!,
Mojo and Q magazine, but this institution already publishes good magazines I
doubt they would like to publish another one. Bauer also has TV channels to maximise their impact on the public and broaden
their target groups doing this they use cross media convergence. As the
institution has been around for a long time they have made
their target audience all ages and interests.
Who
would be the audience for your media product?
The audience of my magazine would be 15
and over as this is the target group that are known to buy more magazines and
they would be the type of audience that would be interested in my magazine and
what it has to offer the readers.
How
does my magazine attract the target audience?
My target audience is 15 and over because
this age group tend to buy more magazines then others.
My magazine attracts my target audience because it features the artists that they are fans of, and I have used the same colour scheme all the way through the magazine and I have made the colours bright and eye catching. My magazine contains information on a range of different artist to attract a wide range of audiences. My magazine uses a more formal tone so it can range to a bigger audience and it makes it easier to understand, such as Q an NME. MUSIC MATTERS gives more information on artist that my target audience like and they can get free offers for all their needs.

What
have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?
I have learnt how to edit a picture
Photoshop that I have taken and make it
accessible to use on my magazine, and how to make the front page for my
magazine appealing to the reader and how to edit words on to my magazine and
how to make it more interesting for my target audience to read and look at.
Looking
back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full product?
The differences between the college
magazine and the music magazine is that the college one is less complex and is
basically just one picture with a title, but the music magazine has many
pictures, titles and sub texts on the same page. The contents page of my
college magazine is basic and not very informative but my music magazine is
informative of everything going on in the magazine and what you will read about
and how I can effect the reader and why you would want to buy the magazine.
